ATTENTION ALBANY: HOMECOMING MONEY SHOULD STAY IN ALBANY
CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ Is Looking for Albany’s Venue Owners, Promoters, Student Leaders, Alumni, Businesses, Creators and Sponsors for Saturday, October 10, 2026
CRUSH MAGAZINE™ | CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ | FALL HOMECOMING 2026
Albany does not need Atlanta’s permission to matter.
Albany State does not need another city to validate its Homecoming.
South Georgia does not need to be treated like an afterthought on somebody else’s tour.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Albany has something every entertainment company, hospitality business, restaurant, retailer and sponsor understands:
PEOPLE ARE COMING.
Students.
Alumni.
Families.
Football fans.
Friends.
Visitors.
Creators.
Entrepreneurs.
People coming home.
People visiting for the first time.
And wherever people gather—
money moves.
The question is:
WHERE DOES IT GO?
CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ wants to build an Albany Homecoming experience that doesn’t simply enter the city, collect money and disappear.
We want the local ecosystem involved.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2026
ALBANY STATE HOMECOMING.
Football.
Alumni.
Campus.
Culture.
Then Saturday night.
That is the opportunity.
And right now:
WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT ALBANY VENUE.
ALBANY VENUE OWNERS:
THIS CALL IS FOR YOU.
If you operate a legitimate event venue, club, ballroom, entertainment facility or flexible event space capable of supporting a professionally produced Homecoming event—
we want the information.
Capacity.
Availability.
Rental structure.
Deposit.
Operating hours.
Security.
Sound.
Lighting.
Stage.
Bar arrangement where applicable.
VIP.
Parking.
Rideshare.
Insurance.
Staffing.
Vendor policies.
Settlement.
Give us the actual economics.
Because the right venue isn’t simply the building with the biggest number on the capacity certificate.
It’s the room capable of becoming:
FULL.
A PACKED SMALLER ROOM CAN BE MORE POWERFUL THAN AN EMPTY LARGE ONE.
This matters especially in regional markets.
We aren’t interested in importing Atlanta ego into Albany.
We want to understand Albany demand.
Then size the experience appropriately.
400.
401.
402.
1,000.
Whatever the number is—
let the market and economics determine it.
Not pride.
ALBANY PROMOTERS:
WE NEED THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY KNOW ALBANY.
Not someone who drove through once.
Not somebody sitting in Atlanta telling us what Albany students supposedly do.
Who moves people locally?
Who has relationships?
Who knows the DJs?
Who knows the alumni crowd?
Who knows the student crowd?
Who understands Homecoming history?
Who knows which venues customers trust?
Who knows what ticket prices work?
Who understands when Albany buys?
That knowledge has value.
SHOW US YOUR RECEIPTS.
Past events.
Attendance.
Ticket sales.
Venues.
Content.
Audience.
Your role.
We don’t need exaggerated numbers.
A real 250 customers is more valuable than a fictional 1,000.
We’re building a business.
Accurate information wins.
ALBANY STATE STUDENTS:
WE WANT TO KNOW WHO’S BUILDING.
SGA.
Student organizations.
Entrepreneurs.
Athletes.
Artists.
DJs.
Designers.
Photographers.
Videographers.
Content creators.
Campus media.
Future executives.
Albany State Homecoming should create visibility for Albany State students.
Not only visiting entertainers.
STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS:
HOMECOMING IS YOUR MARKET TOO.
If you sell:
Clothing.
Food.
Beauty products.
Art.
Photography.
Design.
Technology.
Professional services.
Accessories.
Merchandise you have the right to sell.
Or another legitimate product—
Homecoming demand may create customers.
CRUSH Magazine™ wants to identify the entrepreneurs already building.
ALBANY STATE ALUMNI:
COME HOME WITH MORE THAN SCHOOL COLORS.
Bring:
Connections.
Jobs.
Internships.
Customers.
Mentorship.
Knowledge.
Business.
Capital where appropriate.
Introductions.
If Albany State helped build your career, Homecoming creates an opportunity to help somebody currently standing where you once stood.
That’s how an alumni network compounds.
ALUMNI BUSINESS OWNERS:
WE WANT TO KNOW YOUR COMPANIES.
Restaurant?
Transportation?
Real estate?
Insurance?
Accounting?
Law?
Technology?
Construction?
Beauty?
Hospitality?
Retail?
Media?
Entertainment?
Professional services?
Let’s document the businesses Albany State alumni are building.
Homecoming spending should have pathways into alumni-owned enterprises too.
ALBANY RESTAURANTS:
PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW WHERE TO EAT.
Before the game.
After the game.
Before the event.
After the event.
Sunday morning.
CRUSH Magazine™ should be able to publish an Albany Homecoming food guide that sends visitors toward local businesses worth supporting.
That’s useful content.
Useful content can become commerce.
BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES:
THIS WEEKEND SHOULD MATTER TO YOU.
Homecoming at an HBCU generates concentrated Black consumer activity.
That makes local Black business participation particularly important.
Restaurants.
Retail.
Beauty.
Barbers.
Transportation.
Photography.
Fashion.
Professional services.
Hospitality.
Food trucks.
We want the visitor to know you exist.
HOTELS:
Visitors need somewhere to sleep.
But the relationship can extend beyond room inventory.
Group rates.
Trackable booking relationships.
Creator accommodations.
Local guides.
Hospitality.
Transportation coordination.
If the weekend brings a first-time guest into your property and they return later—
Homecoming became customer acquisition.
TRANSPORTATION COMPANIES:
Albany has a movement problem to solve just like every other market.
Hotel.
Campus.
Stadium.
Restaurant.
Venue.
Home.
Safer and more reliable transportation improves the entire experience.
Local operators should be part of that solution.
FOOD TRUCKS AND LATE-NIGHT FOOD:
WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PARTY.
Everybody suddenly wants food.
Plan for it.
Legitimate vendors.
Proper approvals.
Good placement.
Good food.
Late-night commerce can be part of the customer experience rather than an afterthought.
ALBANY DJS:
WE DON’T WANT ATLANTA TO TELL ALBANY WHAT ALBANY SOUNDS LIKE.
You tell us.
What records move?
What artists matter locally?
What Southern records never disappeared?
What throwbacks work?
What does the alumni crowd want?
What do students want?
What does Albany sound like in 2026?
That’s part of the documentation.
LOCAL ARTISTS:
HOMECOMING SHOULD CREATE DISCOVERY.
We want to know who Albany is listening to.
Not everybody needs a national record.
The artist who owns their city matters.
CRUSH Magazine™ is interested in documenting emerging regional music before everybody else catches up.
PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Show us Albany.
Not simply faces in front of a step-and-repeat.
Campus.
City.
Fashion.
Alumni.
Students.
Businesses.
Tailgates.
Food.
Nightlife.
The images should preserve what Albany State Homecoming actually felt like in 2026.
VIDEOGRAPHERS:
Tell the entire story.
Morning.
Campus.
Football.
Alumni.
Businesses.
Sunset.
Night.
Closing.
Homecoming is more interesting when the camera understands context.
LOCAL MEDIA:
LET’S WORK.
Radio.
Television.
Digital publications.
Student media.
Podcasts.
Creators.
Independent journalists.
CRUSH doesn’t need to replace Albany media.
We should collaborate with people who already understand the city.
Interviews.
Cross-promotion.
Photography.
Business features.
Student profiles.
Music.
Culture.
Distribution.
Local credibility matters.
CORPORATE BRANDS:
ALBANY SHOULD NOT RECEIVE THE LEFTOVER ACTIVATION.
This matters.
Brands often spend heavily in major metropolitan markets and treat regional audiences like an afterthought.
But consumers notice effort.
If you’re going to activate in Albany—
bring something useful.
Scholarships.
Student-business support.
Technology.
Hydration.
Transportation.
Career opportunities.
Financial education.
Creator resources.
Customer experiences.
Don’t send the smallest banner in the warehouse and call it community engagement.
FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS:
Albany State students and alumni represent:
Future homeowners.
Business owners.
Borrowers.
Investors.
Professionals.
Families.
Don’t wait until their financial lives are fully established.
Help people understand:
Credit.
Business banking.
Homeownership.
Saving.
Investing.
Entrepreneurship.
That’s useful sponsorship.
EMPLOYERS:
SOUTH GEORGIA HAS TALENT.
Recruit it.
Homecoming puts alumni professionals and current students in the same city.
Use that.
Internships.
Career conversations.
Hiring.
Networking.
Industry panels.
Mentorship.
Students shouldn’t believe opportunity only exists after they move to Atlanta.
CITY AND TOURISM LEADERS:
Homecoming visitors are tourists too.
They need:
Hotels.
Food.
Transportation.
Activities.
Information.
They spend money.
A positive Homecoming experience can shape how somebody remembers Albany.
That matters beyond Saturday.
AND HERE’S THE COMMERCIAL PRINCIPLE:
KEEP MORE OF THE DOLLAR LOCAL.
Imagine one visitor spends:
Hotel.
Gas.
Food.
Tickets.
Clothing.
Transportation.
Brunch.
Retail.
Multiply that behavior across the weekend.
That’s economic activity.
The more local businesses participate, the more Homecoming spending circulates through Albany.
That’s good business.
CRUSH SHOULD NOT ARRIVE WITH EVERY VENDOR FROM ATLANTA.
Use local capability where it meets professional standards.
Local photographers.
Local food.
Local promoters.
Local DJs.
Local transportation.
Local security.
Local businesses.
Local media.
Local creators.
Then bring outside resources only where they genuinely add value.
That’s how a touring platform can enter a market without stripping the market.
PROFIT STILL MATTERS.
This is not charity.
CRUSH has to make money.
Venue partners have to make money.
Promoters should make money based on value delivered.
Vendors need customers.
Sponsors need returns.
Local businesses need revenue.
The objective isn’t removing profit.
IT’S EXPANDING WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN IT.
THE EVENT ITSELF MUST BE DISCIPLINED.
Before confirmation:
Venue economics.
Capacity.
Security.
Production.
Talent.
Marketing.
Insurance.
Staff.
Ticketing.
Hospitality.
Break-even.
Projected attendance.
Average ticket.
Sponsor contribution.
Projected profit.
Margin.
If the math doesn’t work—
the flyer doesn’t fix it.
SATURDAY OCTOBER 10 HAS ONE ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGE.
CRUSH comes into Albany after:
October 2 — Atlanta.
October 3 — Athens.
October 9 — Atlanta/AUC.
That means Albany becomes the fourth major market moment in eight days.
By then, the road should already have data.
Which advertisements converted?
Which ticket tiers worked?
Which content moved?
Which operational mistakes need fixing?
Use the information.
Don’t start from zero every city.
BUT DON’T COPY ATLANTA INTO ALBANY.
That’s equally important.
Take the system.
Not the personality.
The brand travels.
The market remains local.
That’s how a tour should work.
ALBANY SHOULD FEEL LIKE ALBANY.
The music.
The people.
The food.
The businesses.
The campus.
The alumni.
The city.
CRUSH should amplify the market—not erase it.
SO THIS IS THE CALL.
ALBANY VENUES:
Show us the room.
ALBANY PROMOTERS:
Show us conversion.
ALBANY STATE STUDENTS:
Show us who’s building.
ALUMNI:
Bring opportunity home.
RESTAURANTS:
Feed the weekend.
HOTELS:
House the visitors.
TRANSPORTATION:
Move the crowd.
DJS:
Show us Albany’s sound.
ARTISTS:
Send the records.
PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Document the culture.
MEDIA:
Help tell the story.
LOCAL BUSINESSES:
Get into the economy.
CORPORATE BRANDS:
Bring resources worthy of the market.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2026.
ALBANY, GEORGIA.
ALBANY STATE HOMECOMING.
The crowd is coming.
The spending is coming.
The attention is coming.
NOW LET’S MAKE SURE OPPORTUNITY IS HERE WHEN IT ARRIVES.

FALL HOMECOMING TOUR 2026
ATTENTION ALBANY:
THIS ISN’T A STOP BETWEEN BIGGER CITIES.
YOU ARE THE MARKET.
YOUR STUDENTS MATTER.
YOUR ALUMNI MATTER.
YOUR BUSINESSES MATTER.
YOUR CULTURE MATTERS.
YOUR ECONOMY MATTERS.
October 10.
HOMECOMING MONEY SHOULD STAY IN ALBANY.
And CRUSH wants to build with the people already there.
