Orange Crush Festival
Purpose Statement:
Honoring Our Roots, Expanding Our Vision
The Orange Crush Festival originated in 1988 as a spring beach gathering created specifically for Savannah State University students. Rooted in the spirit of the civil rights movement dating back to the 1950s, the festival was established as a powerful response to discrimination and exclusion, providing a safe and celebratory space for students to unite, express their culture, and foster community near the close of the academic year. With the federal trademark registration secured in 2021 and the official permitting of the Orange Crush Festival on Tybee Island in 2025, the festival’s purpose has grown significantly—evolving from a singular beach music event into a comprehensive, multifaceted brand ecosystem. Today, the Orange Crush Festival functions not only as an iconic music and cultural celebration but also as the flagship component of a broader organizational framework that includes:
Orange Crush University (OCU): A 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering students, veterans, and community members through educational programs, blockchain innovation, and civic engagement initiatives in partnership with colleges, universities, and community organizations.
Orange Crush Tybee: The regional hub that manages local permitting, logistics, and community relations on Tybee Island, ensuring that festival operations harmonize with local culture, environment, and regulatory standards.
CRUSH COIN Cryptocurrency and Crypto Bank: An innovative blockchain-based financial platform facilitating secure, low-cost transactions within the CRUSH ecosystem, supporting festival commerce, educational programs, and community-driven economic empowerment.
CRUSH Magazine: The official publication that documents and amplifies the festival’s cultural impact, educational initiatives, and technological advancements through storytelling, interviews, and multimedia content.
The federally registered trademark, covering all associated classes as of 2021 and 2025, empowers the Orange Crush Festival to operate across diverse business and service sectors—including partnerships with government entities, local municipalities, and academic institutions—to promote inclusiveness, entertainment, education, and community development. This expanded purpose ensures that the Orange Crush Festival continues to honor its original mission as a unifying cultural force while innovating and growing into a dynamic movement that uplifts voices, advances technology, and strengthens communities for generations to come.

What We Do: Festival Permitting Made Simple
Before we bring the Orange Crush Festival to life, we make sure everything is official and approved. That means working closely with the city and local authorities to get all the necessary permits and permissions.
We submit detailed plans about how the festival will run—covering safety, parking, noise control, crowd management, and cleanup. We also make sure the event follows local laws and respects the community and environment.
By handling all these steps carefully, we ensure the festival is safe, legal, and enjoyable for everyone—so when the music starts, all you have to do is celebrate.
What We Do: We’re the Pulse, the Party, and the Power of Culture Reimagined
At CRUSH, we don’t just throw a festival—we ignite a movement where music, education, technology, and community collide in the most electric way possible. Imagine the energy of a spring break beach party, the curiosity of a cutting-edge classroom, and the innovation of blockchain—all dancing together under one vibrant umbrella.
We’re the creators of the Orange Crush Festival, a celebration that turns the beach into a stage for culture, creativity, and connection. But we don’t stop at the music—we empower the next generation through Orange Crush University, where students and veterans dive into workshops and projects that decode the future of tech and civic leadership.
On the tech frontier, we pioneer with CRUSH COIN, our own cryptocurrency that’s more than digital money—it’s a passport to a community-powered economy where festival-goers, artists, and entrepreneurs transact seamlessly and securely.
Our stories come alive in CRUSH Magazine, a buzzing hub of art, innovation, and real talk that bridges past, present, and future. And on the ground in Tybee Island, Orange Crush Tybee makes sure our celebration respects and uplifts the local vibes, weaving community spirit into every beat.
Together, we blend the beats of culture, the spark of innovation, and the strength of community into one unstoppable force. We don’t just build events or programs—we build experiences, opportunities, and legacies. At CRUSH, we’re making it happen every day, and we’re just getting started.
