ATTENTION ATHENS: UGA HOMECOMING SATURDAY HAS A NIGHTLIFE OPPORTUNITY

CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ Is Looking for the Right Venue, Promoters, DJs, Creators, Hospitality Partners and Local Businesses for Saturday, October 3, 2026

CRUSH MAGAZINE™ | CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ | FALL HOMECOMING 2026

Athens already has the crowd.

That’s the opportunity.

Thousands of students, alumni, football fans, visitors and families moving through one of America’s most recognizable college towns.

Homecoming.

Football.

Tailgating.

Downtown.

Restaurants.

Hotels.

Bars.

Music.

Tradition.

And on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the question becomes:

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE GAME?

CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ is looking at that question as a business opportunity.

Not simply another party.

A properly positioned Homecoming-night experience built around the natural movement of the weekend.

And right now—

WE NEED THE RIGHT ATHENS ROOM.

THE CALENDAR CREATES THE OPENING

UGA’s Homecoming festivities lead into Saturday football against Vanderbilt.

With an early kickoff window, the most commercially valuable fact may not simply be that there’s a game.

It’s that Saturday evening potentially becomes a second act.

Game.

Postgame.

Dinner.

Then nightlife.

That’s a customer journey.

The CRUSH opportunity begins by understanding it.

WE DON’T WANT TO COMPETE WITH THE GAME.

That would be stupid.

The game is the centerpiece.

CRUSH should build around it.

Let people tailgate.

Let them watch football.

Let alumni reconnect.

Let students experience Homecoming.

Then give the market somewhere compelling to go afterward.

COMPLEMENT THE WEEKEND.

DON’T FIGHT IT.

ATHENS VENUE OWNERS:

OCTOBER 3 IS ON THE BOARD.

If you operate a legitimate venue capable of hosting a professionally produced Saturday-night event, we want the information.

Not:

“Hit me up, we can probably do something.”

Send the business details.

Capacity.

Availability.

Rental structure.

Deposit.

Hours.

Security requirements.

Existing sound.

Lighting.

Bar arrangement.

VIP/table structure.

Parking.

Rideshare access.

Insurance requirements.

Staffing.

Restrictions.

Cancellation policy.

Settlement process.

Let’s determine whether the room works mathematically before deciding whether it looks good on Instagram.

CAPACITY MATTERS.

But density matters too.

A sold-out 600-person room can create more energy, scarcity and profitability than a half-empty 1,800-person room.

We’re not chasing capacity for ego.

We’re chasing:

OPTIMAL CAPACITY.

Enough room to generate meaningful revenue.

Small enough to protect demand.

Strong enough to create atmosphere.

Flexible enough to preserve margin.

LOCATION MAY BE EVERYTHING.

Athens on a football Saturday isn’t normal Athens.

Traffic changes.

Parking changes.

Pedestrian movement changes.

Downtown changes.

Customer timing changes.

A venue that works beautifully on a random Saturday may be operationally difficult during Homecoming.

We need operators who understand the difference.

DOWNTOWN ATHENS:

WE’RE LOOKING.

If the right room exists close to the natural postgame customer flow, that matters.

But proximity isn’t worth terrible economics.

We’re evaluating both.

ATHENS PROMOTERS:

WE NEED LOCAL INTELLIGENCE.

Who actually moves Saturday-night customers?

What time does the market arrive after an early game?

How long do alumni stay downtown?

What do students buy in advance?

What do they buy at the door?

What ticket price works?

Which competing events matter?

Which DJs matter?

What marketing channels convert?

That’s the information a real local promoter brings.

SHOW SALES, NOT FOLLOWERS.

We’ve said it before because it matters.

If your audience buys—

show us.

Past events.

Ticket movement.

Venue history.

Audience.

Price point.

Your actual role.

A promoter capable of reliably moving 300 people is more valuable than an influencer capable of showing a flyer to 300,000 people who don’t purchase.

STUDENT PROMOTERS:

THIS COULD BE YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO MOVE FROM CAMPUS PROMOTION INTO PROFESSIONAL EVENT BUSINESS.

But professionalism is required.

Tracking links.

Ticket attribution.

Deadlines.

Communication.

Agreements.

Content delivery.

No imaginary numbers.

No disappearing.

No:

“Everybody said they’re coming.”

Coming isn’t a metric.

PURCHASES ARE.

UGA STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS:

CRUSH Magazine™ is interested in the larger Homecoming story.

Student leadership.

Entrepreneurship.

Athletics.

Creators.

Fashion.

Music.

Campus traditions.

Where legitimate editorial or independent collaborative opportunities make sense, we’re interested in conversation.

Independent CRUSH programming should not be represented as an official UGA event without express university authorization.

Credibility matters.

UGA ALUMNI:

ATHENS IS YOUR HOME AGAIN FOR A WEEKEND.

Bring more than nostalgia.

Bring:

Business.

Connections.

Opportunities.

Mentorship.

Customers.

Knowledge.

If you’re a founder, executive, attorney, physician, investor, creator, professional athlete, entertainer or business owner—

somebody currently sitting in a UGA classroom may be trying to enter your industry.

Homecoming can create that introduction.

ATHENS DJS:

WHO OWNS THE NIGHT AFTER THE GAME?

We want DJs capable of understanding multiple audiences.

Students.

Recent alumni.

Older alumni.

Atlanta visitors.

Southern hip-hop.

National records.

Throwbacks.

Current hits.

Game-day energy.

A Homecoming crowd can contain multiple generations.

The DJ has to connect them.

ATHENS PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Saturday should be documented from daylight to nightlife.

Campus.

Tailgates.

Fashion.

Football atmosphere.

Alumni.

Downtown.

Then the night.

The city should be visible in the images.

If we could replace Athens with another city and nobody would notice—

the photography didn’t document enough.

VIDEOGRAPHERS:

THIS IS A STORY WITH A NATURAL ARC.

Morning.

Tailgate.

Game.

Postgame.

Sunset.

Dinner.

Night.

Crowd.

Closing.

One city.

One Saturday.

That’s more compelling than random clips.

Tell the story.

LOCAL RESTAURANTS:

YOU MAY BE PART OF THE EVENT WITHOUT EVER TOUCHING THE VENUE.

People need dinner after football.

People need late-night food after nightlife.

People need brunch Sunday.

CRUSH Magazine™ wants to identify:

Athens restaurants worth visiting.

Black-owned businesses.

Local institutions.

Group dining.

Late-night food.

Brunch.

Homecoming visitors should know where to spend.

HOTELS:

Homecoming visitors need rooms.

But hospitality can become a larger relationship.

Trackable booking opportunities.

Creator accommodations.

Customer packages.

Local guides.

Transportation coordination.

A visitor’s CRUSH experience may begin at check-in.

TRANSPORTATION:

Football traffic is real.

Parking is real.

People drinking and driving is a serious concern.

Professional transportation options can create customer value while supporting safer movement.

Hotels.

Campus.

Downtown.

Venue.

Back to the hotel.

Solve the route.

LOCAL BUSINESSES:

HOMECOMING MONEY SHOULD CIRCULATE THROUGH ATHENS.

Retail.

Food.

Beauty.

Fashion.

Transportation.

Photography.

Hospitality.

Fitness.

Professional services.

Local brands.

There is economic activity surrounding the game.

We want to help visitors discover legitimate businesses participating in it.

SPONSORS:

Athens offers a concentrated activation window.

College audience.

Football audience.

Alumni.

Travel.

Hospitality.

Nightlife.

Content.

That creates potential for brands in:

Technology.

Automotive.

Financial services.

Apparel.

Beauty.

Food and non-alcoholic beverage.

Transportation.

Hospitality.

Consumer products.

But we want activations that add something to the customer experience.

Not logo clutter.

THE EVENT ECONOMICS HAVE TO WORK.

Before CRUSH confirms an Athens room, the internal model should answer:

How many people can legally attend?

What does the room cost?

What does security cost?

What does production cost?

What talent is actually necessary?

What is the average expected ticket?

What is break-even attendance?

How much sponsor revenue is realistic?

What happens at 60% capacity?

What happens at 80%?

What happens if it sells out?

What is projected net profit?

That’s the decision.

ATHENS IS NOT THE PLACE TO OVERSPEND FOR EGO.

The market already has natural demand.

The goal is to capture some of that demand efficiently.

We don’t need to manufacture Homecoming.

UGA already did that.

We need to create a product customers believe improves their Saturday night.

That’s much cheaper than trying to invent culture from nothing.

THE EVENT SHOULD FEEL LIKE ATHENS.

Not Atlanta transported 70 miles east.

That’s important.

Every CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ stop needs its own identity.

Atlanta should feel like Atlanta.

Albany should feel like Albany.

Savannah should feel like Savannah.

Statesboro should feel like Statesboro.

And Athens should feel like:

ATHENS.

That means local partnerships matter.

OCTOBER 3 CAN BECOME A MODEL FOR THE TOUR.

Arrive in a city with existing cultural demand.

Respect the institution creating the weekend.

Build independently and transparently.

Partner locally.

Keep overhead disciplined.

Create an excellent event.

Document it.

Capture customer relationships appropriately.

Measure everything.

Leave the market with more relationships than you entered with.

Then move to the next city.

That’s touring.

AND THE NEXT CITY COMES FAST.

October 2:

Atlanta.

October 3:

Athens.

Then October 9:

Atlanta / AUC.

Then October 10:

Albany.

The road moves quickly.

Which means operations have to be repeatable.

Athens cannot become a logistical black hole that damages the next stop.

Strong execution matters.

THIS IS THE CALL TO ATHENS.

VENUE OWNERS:

Show us the room.

PROMOTERS:

Show us the sales.

DJS:

Show us your crowd.

PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Show us Athens.

VIDEOGRAPHERS:

Tell the Saturday story.

RESTAURANTS:

Feed the weekend.

HOTELS:

House the visitors.

TRANSPORTATION:

Move people safely.

LOCAL BUSINESSES:

Participate in the economy.

SPONSORS:

Add value to the experience.

STUDENTS:

Show us what’s moving.

ALUMNI:

Bring something back.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026.

ATHENS, GEORGIA.

Football first.

Homecoming all day.

Then:

CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ AFTER DARK.

The exact room?

That’s the business we’re working on now.

And we would rather wait for the right agreement than announce the wrong one.

Because a successful tour isn’t built by forcing venues onto dates.

It’s built by matching:

DATE.

MARKET.

AUDIENCE.

ROOM.

ECONOMICS.

Get those five right—

and everything else becomes easier.

ATHENS:

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3.

THE GAME BRINGS THE CITY TO LIFE.

THE NIGHT CREATES ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT ROOM.
