BEEN JAMMIN: FOUR CITIES, ONE ANIMATED BOULEVARD

CRUSH Magazine | YouTube Spotlight

Savannah. Jacksonville. Atlanta. Miami. Put the destination in—and give the music its moment.

“Been Jammin” brings Southern automobile culture into Plug Not A Rapper’s animated catalog. Its published visual concept connects four cities through a fictional boulevard, bringing cars, speaker systems, travel, and the artist’s personality into the same imagined setting. There is a familiar pleasure behind that premise: choosing the music before pulling out. Somebody gets control of the playlist. Somebody requests a repeat. A routine trip becomes a shared memory because of what was playing.

That experience gives a car-centered video something human to work with. The vehicle can be extravagant, but the connection is accessible. Plenty of people know what it means to sit through the end of a song after reaching their destination.

“Been Jammin” offers an animated setting for that relationship between music and movement. The official YouTube upload identifies it as an Am Original I animated motion picture and explicitly connects Mr CRUSH, Plug Not A Rapper, and PartyPlugMikey in its title. (youtu.be)

The personality travels with the car

CRUSH’s published coverage also connects “Been Jammin” with the Mikey Dance, positioning an artist-specific movement alongside the automobile concept. That is a creative direction worth watching: a recognizable gesture can give viewers another way to remember the performer. The dance is presented as part of the campaign, rather than evidence of an established viral trend. (orangecrushfestival.net)

The appeal of that combination is straightforward. Cars provide the setting. A dance gives the person beside the car something distinctive to do. Together, they create an invitation that can extend beyond watching: viewers can decide whether the movement is something they want to try themselves.

Take the long way through the catalog

For a YouTube session, place “Been Jammin” between “Climate Controlla” and “What Time”. Both are verified animated releases carrying the same artist identities, giving the session continuity across three separate titles. (youtu.be, youtu.be)
