“XITY GURLZ”: PLUG NOT A RAPPER PUTS THE GROUP CHAT ON NOTICE

A

Baddies Island

selection for the women bringing their own personality to the night

CRUSH MAGAZINE | MUSIC • NIGHTLIFE • CRUSH RELOADED

Every group has its own energy.

One friend plans the night. One takes the pictures. One knows everybody when the group walks in. And one is already dancing before the rest have decided where to stand.

“Xity Gurlz” is a record to bring into that conversation.

The Plug Not A Rapper and PartyPlugMikey track appears second on Baddies Island, the 2023 project that also includes “Baddies,” “General Tso,” “Turnt,” and “Slutty Vegan.”

THE NIGHT STARTS WITH THE PEOPLE

The best part of getting ready isn’t always the destination. It’s the time before the group leaves: deciding what to wear, passing the phone around, and playing the songs somebody insists everyone needs to hear.

That’s a moment for “Xity Gurlz.”

CRUSH’s existing Baddies Island overview highlights the track for its playful, flirtatious approach. Put it in the pre-game queue, let the group hear it, and ask whether it deserves another spin.

KEEP EXPLORING

BADDIES ISLAND

“Xity Gurlz” follows “Baddies” on the album. Start with those two records, continue into “General Tso,” and let the full project introduce itself.

The eight-song album gives new listeners a compact route through the Baddies Island era—and gives longtime supporters a reason to bring an earlier record back to somebody who hasn’t heard it.
