GENERAL TSO: A QUICK INTRODUCTION TO PLUG NOT A RAPPER
CRUSH Magazine | Orange Crush Tybee Festival Reloaded Music Spotlight
“General Tso” is the kind of title that makes you look twice at the tracklist.
Released as a single in 2023, the Plug Not A Rapper record featuring PartyPlugMikey offers a short entry into the artist’s catalog. Its familiar food reference puts a playful name on a selection listeners can explore in about a minute.
That makes “General Tso” an easy addition to the Orange Crush Tybee Festival Reloaded music conversation. Play it while putting together the beach playlist, then explore the catalog around it. For listeners who started with “Xity Gurlz” or “BADDIES,” it provides another connection to the Baddies Island chapter of Mikey’s work.
A short record can be a useful introduction: it gives somebody enough time to hear the artist and decide whether to keep exploring. Send “General Tso” to a friend who has never listened to Plug Not A Rapper and ask what they want to hear next.
For the Tybee set, it is another catalog selection worth considering as the full performance takes shape.
Give “General Tso” a minute—and discover what comes next.
