OPEN2REAL: GET TO KNOW THE PERSONALITY BEHIND THE PLUG

CRUSH Magazine | Music + Orange Crush Culture

An artist can have a recognizable name and still surprise you when you finally press play.

“Open2Real” appears early on Crush Culture Society, the project by Mr Crush and Plug Not A Rapper featuring Party Plug Mikey. Previous CRUSH coverage has highlighted the record’s personality and wordplay as part of the way Mikey presents himself through music.

The title gives listeners an invitation: come in with an open mind and spend time with the record. It is another selection for people discovering PartyPlugMikey through Orange Crush Tybee Festival Reloaded and looking for a specific song to put behind the name.

Start with “Open2Real,” then continue to “Motion Witness Wireless,” the next track on the album. Follow both with “Type Action Word” to explore more of the language and identity running through Crush Culture Society.

For the Tybee playlist, “Open2Real” offers a chance to introduce the artist beyond the event. Share the track with someone in your group, let them listen and ask what they would play next from the project.

Open the song. Get familiar with the artist. Stay for the rest of the album.
