CRUSH Magazine | Music & Video Spotlight

Two names on the record. Give both your attention.

The title makes a bold introduction. “Rawest” sounds competitive before the first play—a word that invites the performer to make a case and the listener to decide.

The collaboration gives that introduction another dimension. CRUSH’s published music coverage describes Taliraqs as providing a contrast to Plug’s delivery. That is a useful detail to listen for: how a featured performer changes the experience of a record, and what becomes memorable when the two contributions sit together. (orangecrushfestival.net)

A feature credit deserves attention beyond the release announcement. For someone arriving through Plug Not A Rapper, “Rawest” is also an introduction to Taliraqs. For someone following Taliraqs, it offers a route into Plug’s wider catalog.

That exchange is part of the pleasure of collaborative music. One familiar name can lead a listener toward another.

Make this a focused viewing session. Watch the video first, then replay the audio and decide which contribution stays with you. The title supplies the challenge; your own ears get the final word.

And there is another collaboration to explore afterward: Apple Music also lists “O.T.D. Off the Dome” featuring PartyPlugMikey and TALIRAQS among Plug Not A Rapper’s 2024 releases. That shared credit gives curious listeners a concrete next stop. (music.apple.com)

Start with “Rawest.” Remember both names.
