RECIPE: GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE PLUG NOT A RAPPER PLAYLIST
CRUSH Magazine | Orange Crush Tybee Festival Reloaded Music Spotlight
A good playlist has its own recipe. It needs songs the group already knows, something somebody insists everyone has to hear, and a record that sends listeners back into an artist’s catalog.
“RECIPE” gives the Orange Crush Tybee Festival Reloaded playlist that older-catalog connection. The Plug Not A Rapper track appears on Swamp Baby, the project that also includes “Turn Up Da Strip.”
For listeners who discovered PartyPlugMikey through more recent CRUSH music, Swamp Baby is a chance to hear an earlier chapter. Start with “RECIPE,” then continue into “Turn Up Da Strip” and explore the rest of the project.
The connection to Tybee begins with the people choosing the music. Send “RECIPE” to the friend building the ride-down playlist and let them hear where this part of the catalog takes them.
The song also gives longtime followers a reason to revisit an earlier release and introduce it to somebody who knows Mikey through Orange Crush but has not yet explored his recordings.
Start with “RECIPE.” Build the rest of the playlist from there.
