THREE SONGS TO MEET PLUG NOT A RAPPER: GOOD GOOD, LONG ISLAND ICED TEA & MIKEY TYSON
CRUSH Magazine | The Listening List
Getting into an artist’s catalog should feel like discovering something, not completing homework. Start with three songs.
This CRUSH Magazine listening list puts “GOOD GOOD,” “LongIslandIcedTea” and “Mikey Tyson” together as an introduction to Plug Not A Rapper, also known as PartyPlugMikey.
The selection comes directly from Mikey. These are the three records he has chosen to put forward as the starting point for his next music push. For listeners, that makes this a chance to follow the artist’s own invitation into his released work.
Start with GOOD GOOD
“GOOD GOOD” opens the sequence. Watch the video, hear the recording and give yourself a song to connect with the artist’s name.
There is something personal about sharing music one record at a time. A direct link says: start here, this is what I wanted you to hear. Make “GOOD GOOD” that introduction, then pass it to somebody whose music taste you trust.
Continue with LongIslandIcedTea
“LongIslandIcedTea,” also presented as “Long Island Iced Tea,” gives the session its next destination.
Its cocktail reference makes the title easy to bring into the evening’s conversation. Open the video while everyone is trading music, then add the recording to the queue. Let the song earn its place beyond the first encounter with its name.
Finish with Mikey Tyson
“Mikey Tyson” closes the introduction with a title built around Mikey himself.
The wordplay gives listeners a recognizable reference and an artist-specific twist. Follow it into the recording, then decide which of the three you would play again first.
That choice is where discovery becomes your own. You might enter through a video, a memorable title or a link from a friend. What matters is finding a record you want to return to.
Three songs. One artist. Start listening, then pick your first replay.
