WHO TF IS MR CRUSH? THE SAVANNAH-BORN ENTERTAINER WHO TURNED THREE IDENTITIES INTO ONE WHOLE MOVEMENT

From Cloverdale to college homecomings, from military service to the music business, from Savannah’s coastal culture to Atlanta’s creative scene — meet the man behind Mr CRUSH, PartyPlugMikey, and Plug Not A Rapper.

CRUSH MAGAZINE EXCLUSIVE | THE ARTIST, THE ORIGIN & THE EMPIRE

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA —

Before the animated music videos.

Before the oversized-head characters.

Before the luxury whips, international dance competitions, futuristic cities, and the larger-than-life AM ORIGINAL universe.

Before the CRUSH name became the centerpiece of a growing entertainment vision.

There was a kid from Savannah.

A kid with a story that didn’t start in a recording studio.

A story shaped by family, neighborhoods, school, basketball, military service, college culture, travel, ambition, and a city with a personality all its own.

Today, that story is being told through three different artistic identities.

MR CRUSH.

PARTYPLUGMIKEY.

PLUG NOT A RAPPER.

Three names.

Three different dimensions.

One man behind all of them.

And one question that deserves a proper introduction.

WHO TF IS MR CRUSH?

FIRST OFF, THIS AIN’T THREE DIFFERENT RAPPERS.

Let’s clear up the confusion.

Mr CRUSH isn’t in a rap group with PartyPlugMikey and Plug Not A Rapper.

There aren’t three different artists competing for verses.

There isn’t a secret lineup.

IT’S ONE ARTIST WITH THREE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES REPRESENTED THROUGH HIS MUSIC AND BRAND.

Mr CRUSH is the entertainer.

The spectacle.

The flamboyant personality.

The larger-than-life confidence.

The character who can turn an ordinary concept into a whole animated world.

PartyPlugMikey is the social connector.

The celebration specialist.

The nightlife personality.

The person who understands that music is only one ingredient in an unforgettable experience.

And Plug Not A Rapper?

That’s the creative identity that refuses to be defined by conventional expectations.

The name itself makes a statement.

YOU CAN HEAR THE RAP. BUT DON’T THINK THAT’S ALL THERE IS TO THE MAN.

Together, the three identities represent an entertainer whose ambitions stretch across music, visual storytelling, nightlife, events, publishing, and brand development.

And the more you explore the catalog, the more that combination begins to make sense.

CLOVERDALE RAISED A CHARACTER THE WORLD HADN’T MET YET.

Everybody comes from somewhere.

But some places leave a permanent fingerprint on how a person sees the world.

For Mr CRUSH, that place is Savannah, Georgia.

Not simply the historic district visitors see in travel brochures.

Not just the Spanish moss, cobblestone streets, and postcard scenery.

The Savannah behind the tourist attractions.

The neighborhoods.

The schools.

The basketball courts.

The family connections.

The personalities.

The everyday experiences that create a hometown identity.

CLOVERDALE.

CARVER VILLAGE.

TATEMVILLE.

CANN PARK.

Those names mean something different when you’ve actually lived around the people and places connected to them.

And throughout his music, Mr CRUSH continues to return to Savannah references that connect his artistic identity with the city that shaped him.

The hometown isn’t a temporary marketing strategy.

It’s part of the foundation.

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR ZIP CODE WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR ROOTS.

THE CALVARY CHAPTER: LIFE WAS TEACHING LESSONS BEFORE THE MUSIC DID.

Before the entertainment career developed into its current form, George Ransom Turner III — known as Mikey — was a young Savannah student navigating experiences that would shape his life.

His educational journey included Calvary Day School, where the campus environment carried personal significance far beyond academics.

The school was located across from Memorial Hospital, a place deeply connected to the loss of his mother.

That proximity made an already difficult chapter even more emotionally complicated.

The journey wasn’t simply about getting through classes.

It was about learning how to keep moving while carrying memories that didn’t disappear when the school day began.

Some people see a school building.

Other people see a place where they had to learn strength earlier than they expected.

For Mikey, that chapter belongs to the deeper story behind the entertainer.

And it helps explain why the CRUSH narrative cannot be reduced to parties, cars, and colorful visuals.

BEHIND THE BIG PERSONALITY IS A REAL PERSON WITH A REAL HISTORY.

THE ATHLETE MENTALITY: THE GAME WAS BIGGER THAN THE SCOREBOARD.

Basketball became another important part of Mikey’s development.

Competition.

Teamwork.

Confidence.

Leadership.

The ability to make decisions under pressure.

And the understanding that personality can matter just as much as physical talent when leading a team.

Those lessons would follow him beyond the court.

His experiences included playing basketball during military service, including a Team USA-associated morale, welfare, and recreation setting overseas.

The basketball influence continues to appear in his creative language.

Sports references.

Quarterback imagery.

Competitive confidence.

Championship concepts.

The feeling that every performance is another opportunity to prove something.

In the CRUSH universe, the court and the stage aren’t entirely separate.

Both reward preparation.

Both demand confidence.

And both require the ability to perform when people are watching.

THE GAME CHANGED. THE COMPETITOR DIDN’T.

FROM SAVANNAH TO THE MILITARY: THE WORLD GOT BIGGER.

Another chapter in the story took Mikey far beyond Georgia.

As a United States Army veteran, he served in chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense, with earlier experience in logistics.

His military journey included service in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during 2015–2016.

Different environments.

Different responsibilities.

Different cultures.

A completely different perspective on how big the world really is.

That experience forms an important part of the larger story.

The artist whose animated music videos now move between cities, countries, fantasy environments, and international celebrations has also experienced life beyond his hometown through service and travel.

Military service and entertainment are very different worlds.

But discipline, adaptability, responsibility, and learning to operate in unfamiliar environments can matter in both.

THE SAME MAN WHO NOW BUILDS FANTASY WORLDS HAS SPENT PART OF HIS LIFE NAVIGATING REAL ONES FAR FROM HOME.

SAVANNAH STATE, CLARK ATLANTA & THE HBCU CONNECTION

The CRUSH identity also intersects with Southern college culture.

Savannah State University.

Clark Atlanta University.

The HBCU experience.

The pride.

The rivalries.

The music.

The fashion.

The organizations.

The alumni connections.

And, of course, homecoming.

For outsiders, homecoming might look like one big weekend of events.

For people who understand the culture, it represents something deeper.

History.

Belonging.

Reunion.

Tradition.

Community.

The feeling of coming back to a place where a version of your younger self still exists.

And for an artist connected to Savannah State culture, the relationship between music and homecoming is especially meaningful.

It’s not simply about playing songs at a party.

It’s about creating music that can become part of the memories people associate with those experiences.

THE GAME MIGHT END SATURDAY. THE HOMECOMING STORIES CAN LAST A LIFETIME.

PARTYPLUGMIKEY: THE NAME TELLS YOU WHAT TYPE OF TIME HE’S ON.

Let’s talk about the social identity.

Because PartyPlugMikey isn’t simply a catchy name.

It represents a side of the entertainer that understands people, music, events, and experiences.

The person who connects different crowds.

The personality comfortable moving between cities and social settings.

The entertainer who sees a gathering as an opportunity to create a memory.

Savannah.

Tybee Island.

Atlanta.

Jacksonville.

Miami.

Each place brings its own culture.

And the PartyPlugMikey identity provides a natural bridge between them.

It’s about knowing that the right song, the right people, and the right environment can turn an ordinary night into something everybody talks about afterward.

SOME PEOPLE WAIT FOR THE FUNCTION. OTHER PEOPLE HELP MAKE THE FUNCTION HAPPEN.

That distinction sits at the center of the PartyPlugMikey personality.

PLUG NOT A RAPPER: DON’T LET THE NAME FOOL YOU.

Now let’s get into the artistic philosophy.

Why call yourself Plug Not A Rapper when you make rap music?

Because the identity is bigger than the genre.

The name challenges the idea that an entertainer has to fit neatly into one category.

The catalog moves between different subjects and personalities.

Romance.

Nightlife.

Confidence.

Car culture.

Humor.

Ambition.

Competition.

Cultural references.

And experimental concepts that don’t always fit traditional hip-hop formulas.

The goal isn’t to abandon rap.

It’s to refuse to let rap become the ceiling.

THE MUSIC IS THE INTRODUCTION. THE PERSONALITY IS THE MAIN EVENT.

And that philosophy helps explain the increasingly imaginative direction of the CRUSH visual universe.

MR CRUSH: WHEN THE CHARACTER BECOMES BIGGER THAN THE SCREEN.

Then there’s Mr CRUSH.

The oversized personality.

The bold wardrobe.

The animated big-head character.

The luxury fantasy.

The cinematic ambition.

The entertainer who can appear as a wealthy chief in one visual, a flamboyant medieval rock star in another, and a judge at an international dance competition in the next.

It’s exaggerated.

It’s colorful.

It’s sometimes outrageous.

And it’s intentionally different.

Because the Mr CRUSH identity isn’t trying to make every music video look like another ordinary performance clip.

The goal is to build recognizable imagery.

A character.

A visual language.

A world that people can identify.

IF THE PERSONALITY IS LARGER THAN LIFE, WHY SHOULD THE MUSIC VIDEOS BE SMALL?

That question is at the heart of the AM ORIGINAL era.

AM ORIGINAL: THE ALBUM THAT PUTS THE WHOLE PERSONALITY ON DISPLAY.

The 2026 album AM ORIGINAL brings these creative identities together through ten records.

OnlyFanz.

Climate Controlla.

Been Jammin.

What Time.

CRUSH World Cup.

Rich Chief.

Mood Swingerz.

Medieval Mayor Mikey Hendrixxx.

Mr Unanimous.

Sumn Rare.

Ten different concepts.

Different emotions.

Different settings.

Different visual possibilities.

But the same artist at the center.

And three records have emerged as the early performance standouts, according to the artist.

WHAT TIME — THE NIGHTLIFE INVITATION

A soundtrack for spontaneous plans, homecoming reunions, birthday weekends, and the question everybody asks before the function.

WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO:
https://youtu.be/nvVqnyrdces

BEEN JAMMIN — THE SOUTHERN CRUISING EXPERIENCE

A celebration of automobiles, booming speakers, regional connections, and the joy of being in motion.

WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO:

CLIMATE CONTROLLA — THE FIRE & ICE FANTASY

A colorful visual concept where the atmosphere changes, seasons transform, and confidence becomes its own kind of climate control.

These songs provide three different entry points into the same creative universe.

And the album gives listeners seven more records to explore.

WHY THE ANIMATED VIDEOS MATTER

The AM ORIGINAL project isn’t built around traditional music-video production alone.

Instead, the artist has embraced animated visual storytelling, creating stylized environments where the scenery and characters become part of the narrative.

The artist’s recognizable face appears through an intentionally exaggerated big-head character.

Cars move through connected Southern cities.

Entire seasons change.

International dance competitions unfold.

Romantic stories develop.

Fantasy worlds collide.

And each song becomes an opportunity to build a different environment.

The approach is ambitious because it attempts to give listeners more than a visual accompaniment.

It gives them somewhere to explore.

THE MUSIC IS THE SOUNDTRACK. THE VISUALS ARE THE WORLD.

And the larger goal is to connect the individual videos into one complete AM ORIGINAL motion-picture experience.

THE SOUTH ISN’T JUST A MARKET. IT’S PART OF THE IDENTITY.

Savannah is the foundation.

Atlanta is a major creative and professional connection.

Jacksonville represents another important part of the regional journey.

Miami adds tropical, international, and nightlife influences.

Together, these cities create a Southern corridor that appears throughout the CRUSH identity.

But the ambition isn’t limited to geography.

The music and visuals draw on concepts that can travel.

A dance competition doesn’t belong to one city.

A love story doesn’t belong to one state.

A memorable night doesn’t require one specific venue.

And a record about enjoying the ride can connect with listeners anywhere.

THE ROOTS ARE SOUTHERN. THE IMAGINATION DOESN’T HAVE A ZIP CODE.

THE MAN BEHIND THE MUSIC IS STILL WRITING HIS STORY.

It’s easy to look at the bright colors, the exaggerated characters, the nightlife themes, and the confident personality and assume that’s the entire story.

It isn’t.

Behind Mr CRUSH is a father.

A veteran.

A former student-athlete.

A Savannah native.

A creative entrepreneur.

And a person whose life has included both celebration and loss.

Those experiences aren’t all meant to appear in every party record.

But they belong to the larger story of the man creating them.

And as the CRUSH universe continues expanding through music, publishing, and visual storytelling, there’s room for those deeper chapters to become part of the narrative.

The party songs introduce the personality.

The visual worlds reveal the imagination.

The life story explains where some of that drive comes from.

THE CHARACTER MIGHT BE ANIMATED. THE STORY BEHIND HIM IS REAL.

SO WHO TF IS MR CRUSH?

He’s the kid from Savannah who grew into an entertainer with ambitions bigger than one genre.

The veteran who experienced life beyond his hometown.

The creative who developed three identities to express different parts of one personality.

The artist using animated visuals to build an entertainment world around his music.

The PartyPlug who understands the power of a memorable experience.

And the man behind Plug Not A Rapper, a name that challenges people to look beyond the obvious.

MR CRUSH IS THE SHOW.

PARTYPLUGMIKEY IS THE MOTION.

PLUG NOT A RAPPER IS THE MINDSET.

And George Ransom Turner III — Mikey — is the person behind all three.

The story is still unfolding.

The catalog is still growing.

The creative universe is still expanding.

And AM ORIGINAL is one of the clearest introductions yet to what happens when all three identities come together.

SAVANNAH RAISED HIM.

THE SOUTH SHAPED HIM.

THE WORLD GAVE HIM MORE TO EXPLORE.

NOW HE’S BUILDING A WORLD OF HIS OWN.

MR CRUSH.
