BADDIES ISLAND: EIGHT RECORDS FOR THE PRE-GAME, THE PARTY, AND THE RIDE BACK

Plug Not A Rapper and PartyPlugMikey turn an album title into a destination

CRUSH MAGAZINE | MUSIC • NIGHTLIFE • CRUSH CULTURE

The group chat is active. Somebody is still getting dressed. Somebody else is already asking where everyone is going afterward.

Before the night has even started, it needs a soundtrack.

That’s where Baddies Island enters the conversation. Released December 27, 2023, the eight-song Plug Not A Rapper project featuring PartyPlugMikey gives listeners 18 minutes to step into an earlier chapter of the CRUSH catalog.

WELCOME TO THE ISLAND

A great party destination starts with an invitation. Baddies Island puts that invitation in its name.

The project opens with “Baddies,” followed by “Xity Gurlz” and “General Tso.” As the album continues, listeners encounter “Turnt,” “Fukk Friends,” “Slutty Vegan,” and “Money”—titles that give the project plenty of personality before anyone has even picked a favorite.

For fans discovering Plug Not A Rapper through newer music, the album is a chance to go backward and spend time with the earlier catalog. For longtime listeners, it’s an opportunity to bring an older favorite back into rotation.

“BADDIES”: THE INTRODUCTION

“Baddies” gives the island its opening statement.

The song was also released as a single featuring PartyPlugMikey, giving new listeners a direct entry point before they explore the full project.

“XITY GURLZ”: MAKE IT A GROUP CHAT SELECTION

Some records are better discovered together. Put “Xity Gurlz” in the queue while everyone is choosing their outfit, doing their makeup, and figuring out the first stop.

Then let somebody else pick the next track. A pre-game playlist should feel like the people in the room helped build it.

“GENERAL TSO”: ANOTHER WAY INTO THE CATALOG

“General Tso” is another title from the album with its own single release. It gives listeners who prefer to sample one song at a time a quick route into the Baddies Island era.

“SLUTTY VEGAN”: WATCH THE VISUAL

Somebody may discover Baddies Island through a playlist. Somebody else may discover it through a video.

“Slutty Vegan” is one of the project’s tracks, and its video is featured in the CRUSH music library. Watch it, then return to the album and choose which record you want to hear next.

“FUKK FRIENDS”: WHEN THE NIGHT GETS COMPLICATED

A night out can begin with laughter and end with a conversation nobody planned to have.

“Fukk Friends” is another Baddies Island selection with a video available through the CRUSH music gallery. Its title opens a different kind of conversation about attraction and friendship inside the project’s adult setting.

THE INVITATION

Start with “Baddies.” Watch “Slutty Vegan.” Let the album continue through “Money.”

Then send the project to the friend who’s always responsible for the playlist.

“BADDIES”: THE FIRST STOP ON PLUG NOT A RAPPER’S ISLAND

Before the night starts, before the first picture gets posted, before anybody decides where the after-party is—there’s the pre-game.

“Baddies” opens Baddies Island and gives listeners a starting point for the 2023 Plug Not A Rapper project featuring PartyPlugMikey. It was also released as a single, making it easy to share with someone who hasn’t explored the album yet.

Play it while the group gets ready, then let the rest of Baddies Island run. When the album ends, compare favorites: which track is staying in your rotation?
