FROM THE LINEUP TO THE MUSIC

Danny Lowe, known as Our Generation Lowe, and Qua Scott, known as Qua Tha Star, bring two more names into CRUSH Magazine’s Savannah story.

George “Mikey” Turner III’s recollection of Savannah basketball has another name to include: Danny Lowe.

A Savannah High School graduate and Mikey’s Savannah Panthers teammate under Coach Cutter, Lowe also makes music as Our Generation Lowe. His addition expands the Panthers account while opening another connection between Mikey’s athletic upbringing and the creative lives of people from that community.

Alongside that addition, Mikey identifies Qua Scott, a Beach High School graduate, athlete, and professional entertainer known as Qua Tha Star.

Their connections enter the story through different routes. Together, they broaden its view of Savannah talent.

Danny Lowe: a teammate with another introduction

For Mikey, Danny Lowe belongs in the Panthers lineup.

That firsthand connection places him beside George Turner, Ke’Ron Brown, James Sinclair, Dashean Maxwell, and the other players Mikey remembers under Coach Cutter.

“Our Generation Lowe” gives readers a second way to meet him.

The name on a basketball roster and the name attached to music can reach different audiences. Bringing them together allows people who remember Danny through Savannah basketball to discover his creative work—and gives music listeners a connection to his earlier life.

Mikey supplied a YouTube link introducing Our Generation Lowe. It provides a direct starting point for readers to explore the musician whose name now takes its place in the Panthers feature.

Qua Scott: Beach High roots, Qua Tha Star identity

Qua Scott brings a separate school and athletic connection into the series.

Mikey identifies him as a Beach High School graduate and athlete who performs professionally as Qua Tha Star. His music is available through an Apple Music artist page listing the 2022 album Profit From Pain, along with the singles Lost It All and Stunt On Em. The page also credits an appearance on Cee Foe’s “Active.” (music.apple.com)

That catalog gives readers a concrete introduction to his recording work.

For those who knew Qua through school or athletics, the artist name opens another chapter. For listeners discovering Qua Tha Star first, the Beach High connection places the entertainer within the Savannah community Mikey wants this series to recognize.

The hometown names behind the artist names

Mikey’s own public identities—Mr CRUSH, PartyPlugMikey, and Plug Not A Rapper—make these connections especially relevant to the CRUSH story.

He knows what it means for audiences to encounter a stage name before learning the person’s background. Naming Danny Lowe alongside Our Generation Lowe, and Qua Scott alongside Qua Tha Star, gives readers both introductions.

It also keeps their individual work visible. Each artist has his own identity and a direct place for readers to begin exploring it.

Making room in the record

Danny’s addition corrects the Panthers account. Qua’s introduction extends the coverage to another Savannah school, athletic background, and entertainment identity.

Both deserve to be named with care.

Danny Lowe. Our Generation Lowe. Qua Scott. Qua Tha Star.

These are people Mikey wants included when CRUSH Magazine tells the story of the Savannah community around him.
