JAMES SINCLAIR: A PANTHERS TEAMMATE WITH A 40-POINT COLLEGE NIGHT

George “Mikey” Turner III remembers him under Coach Cutter. Western Carolina’s records reveal how far his basketball story traveled.

When Mikey Turner says, “We’re all stars,” about Coach Cutter’s Savannah Panthers, James Sinclair is one of the players he names.

In Mikey’s roster, the connection reads James Sinclair—SHS. Western Carolina University’s basketball biography supplies the next setting: a Savannah High guard who developed into an All-Southern Conference performer and a 1,000-point college scorer. (catamountsports.com)

For CRUSH Magazine’s Savannah basketball series, Sinclair offers another reason to slow down and examine the individuals inside that Panthers lineup.

His name carries a substantial playing history.

Forty points against VMI

On February 21, 2015, Sinclair scored a college career-high 40 points against VMI, making 16 field goals, including four three-pointers.

His senior season also included a 31-point performance against Alabama. In a Southern Conference Tournament victory over ETSU, he contributed 30 points, 14 rebounds, and six steals. (catamountsports.com)

Those performances show several dimensions of his game. The scoring could command attention, while the rebounding and steals added possessions and opportunities for his team.

The ETSU line is especially striking: production across three categories in a tournament win.

The season behind the highlights

Western Carolina’s final senior-year biography credits Sinclair with starting all 31 games he played and averaging a team-leading 19.4 points. He finished his college career with 1,302 points and earned All-Southern Conference recognition. (catamountsports.com)

The sustained production gives the individual highlights their context. Forty points was a peak within a season of repeated responsibility.

Before Western Carolina, the university records him as a four-year letter winner at Savannah High under Coach Tim Jordan. (catamountsports.com)

Where Mikey’s account adds something

A university biography follows the college player backward through his recruitment and school career.

Mikey’s recollection adds a different connection: James Sinclair was part of the Savannah Panthers group he remembers under Coach Cutter.

That firsthand identification places Sinclair within Mikey’s own early basketball world. It brings the future Mr CRUSH into the story as a teammate, alongside players whose paths would develop in different directions.

The connection deserves precision. Sinclair’s college achievements are his own. The Panthers relationship explains why his name belongs in this account of Mikey’s upbringing.

Together, the personal recollection and published record give readers two ways to understand his place in the feature.

Giving the lineup its depth

The Panthers roster becomes more meaningful as its names come into focus.

Ke’Ron Brown’s Hampton career supplied one chapter. Sinclair’s Western Carolina record supplies another, with a 40-point night and a career scoring total that extend the story beyond Savannah.

Mikey remembers the group from inside it. His account preserves the shared connection under Coach Cutter.

For readers discovering that team now, James Sinclair gives “we’re all stars” a specific basketball story to explore.
