SAVANNAH MADE THE MAN. TYBEE HELPED MAKE THE MOVEMENT.
CRUSH MAGAZINE | HOMETOWN LEGACY FEATURE
APRIL 16–19, 2027 | SAVANNAH × TYBEE ISLAND
Before the expanding music catalog, the animated characters, the live performances, and the plans for multiple destination campaigns, there was Savannah.
For George “Mikey” Ransom Turner III, Savannah represents far more than a market on a festival calendar.
It is part of the personal history behind the entertainer.
The story includes childhood experiences, education, athletics, family, community relationships, personal adversity, and the people who influenced his development.
Those experiences offer something no advertising campaign can manufacture: an authentic connection between the founder and the destination.
ONE COASTAL WEEKEND
The CRUSH 2027 campaign identifies April 16–19 as its Savannah/Tybee destination window, leading into the April 20 cultural season.
The vision is concentrated rather than scattered: one coastal Georgia weekend that connects Savannah’s cultural identity with Tybee Island’s beach environment.
Potential editorial stories include Savannah’s Black cultural history, local businesses, fashion, regional music, hospitality, entrepreneurship, and the people whose work contributes to the community.
THE MUSIC COMES HOME
As Party Plug Mikey continues developing WHOM IS WHOME and his wider catalog, a Savannah-centered music feature offers an opportunity to tell the story behind the artist.
The performer on the stage did not appear from nowhere.
The music is another expression of a life shaped by experiences that began long before the recording studio.
That is what makes the hometown chapter different.
Miami introduces the destination experience.
Savannah introduces the deeper story.
APRIL 16–19, 2027.
One weekend. One coast. One CRUSH.
