THE FIRST SEMESTER OF CRUSH UNIVERSITY™

Six Georgia Homecoming Markets. Five Cities. One Fall That Could Define What CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ Becomes Next.

CRUSH MAGAZINE™ | FALL 2026

Every university has a first semester.

So does every idea.

Before the traditions.

Before the alumni stories.

Before people say, “We do this every year.”

There has to be a first time.

Fall 2026 represents that opportunity for:

CRUSH UNIVERSITY™.

Not a university in the traditional sense.

No classrooms.

No dormitories.

No degrees.

No attempt to replace the institutions whose histories stretch across generations.

The classroom is the road.

The curriculum is culture.

The subjects are:

Music.

Sports.

Business.

Fashion.

Student leadership.

Entrepreneurship.

Media.

Nightlife.

Alumni.

Ownership.

And the first semester moves through Georgia.

ATLANTA.

ATHENS.

ALBANY.

SAVANNAH.

STATESBORO.

Five cities.

Multiple university communities.

One Homecoming season.

Welcome to the first semester.

CLASS ONE

ATLANTA

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2026

GEORGIA STATE

The semester begins downtown.

That matters.

Georgia State represents a version of college life where the boundary between university and city can almost disappear.

Walk out of class and Atlanta is already happening.

Business.

Government.

Law.

Sports.

Music.

Media.

Technology.

Hospitality.

Entertainment.

Students don’t have to wait until graduation to encounter professional life.

It’s outside.

The first subject:

OPPORTUNITY.

How do students recognize what already surrounds them?

How do creators turn attention into businesses?

How do entrepreneurs turn ideas into customers?

How do young professionals build networks before they need them?

Atlanta is the appropriate place to begin asking those questions.

CLASS TWO

ATHENS

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2026

UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA

One day later—

the classroom moves.

Athens.

Football.

Homecoming.

Students.

Alumni.

Tailgates.

Tradition.

A major college-football environment.

The subject changes:

SCALE.

What happens when one institution can move an entire city?

Restaurants fill.

Hotels fill.

Parking changes.

Traffic changes.

Businesses prepare.

Thousands of people organize their weekend around the university.

That is economic and cultural power.

The lesson isn’t simply football.

The lesson is understanding what happens when people care enough about an institution to organize their behavior around it.

CLASS THREE

THE ATLANTA UNIVERSITY CENTER

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026

MOREHOUSE × SPELMAN × CLARK ATLANTA

Now the semester enters one of the most historically significant Black educational ecosystems in America.

Morehouse.

Spelman.

Clark Atlanta.

Three institutions.

Distinct identities.

Connected geography.

Generations of alumni.

The subject:

LEGACY.

Not the word printed on a T-shirt.

Actual legacy.

Something built before you arrived.

Something you’re responsible for while you’re here.

Something that should remain after you’re gone.

Homecoming makes that visible.

Students see alumni.

Alumni see who replaced them.

Freshmen see seniors.

Young graduates see the next generation.

Time collapses onto the yard.

MOREHOUSE ASKS A QUESTION

What does it mean to develop men capable of leading beyond themselves?

Not merely professionally.

Personally.

Socially.

Economically.

Civically.

The answer changes with every generation.

That’s why the current students matter just as much as the famous graduates.

History isn’t finished.

Somebody walking across campus today is writing the next chapter.

SPELMAN ASKS ANOTHER

What happens when generations of Black women are connected through one institution?

The answer can be seen across medicine.

Science.

Arts.

Business.

Education.

Law.

Government.

Technology.

Culture.

But again—

don’t only look backward.

Some of the most important Spelman stories haven’t happened yet.

The people who will create them may still be students.

CLARK ATLANTA ADDS ANOTHER DIMENSION

Business.

Media.

Arts.

Research.

Leadership.

Black institutional history.

Atlanta itself.

Clark Atlanta sits inside an environment where culture and industry constantly interact.

The opportunity is learning how to move between both worlds.

Create culture.

Understand business.

Then own something inside the economy surrounding it.

CLASS FOUR

ALBANY

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2026

ALBANY STATE

Now the road leaves Atlanta.

The skyline disappears.

The lesson changes.

COMMUNITY.

Because influence isn’t always measured by population.

Some institutions matter because of how deeply they’re connected to their region.

Albany State.

Southwest Georgia.

Families.

Alumni.

Churches.

Schools.

Businesses.

Community organizations.

Homecoming brings those relationships into one visible moment.

The Golden Rams aren’t simply playing football.

People are returning to something.

That’s the lesson.

NEVER CONFUSE SMALLER MARKET WITH SMALLER IMPORTANCE

This is one of the easiest mistakes outsiders make.

Atlanta gets attention because Atlanta is enormous.

But cultural importance exists outside major cities.

Sometimes relationships become stronger because communities are smaller.

People know each other.

Reputation travels.

Families overlap.

Businesses depend on repeat customers.

Trust matters.

A tour that only understands major markets doesn’t understand the South.

CLASS FIVE

SAVANNAH

OCTOBER 16–17, 2026

SAVANNAH STATE

Now the road reaches the Atlantic coast.

Savannah.

Savannah State.

The Tigers.

HBCU Homecoming.

The subject:

ROOTS.

Savannah doesn’t need somebody to invent history for it.

The history is already there.

Black Savannah.

Coastal Georgia.

Gullah Geechee cultural influence throughout the region.

The port.

The churches.

The neighborhoods.

The food.

The music.

The military communities surrounding the area.

Tourism.

Generations.

Savannah State exists inside a city already carrying extraordinary cultural weight.

FRIDAY

OCTOBER 16

Homecoming weekend begins.

SEY HEY.

Then Saturday comes.

Football.

Students.

Alumni.

The city.

And afterward:

SEY HEY AGAIN.

Two nights.

One Homecoming weekend.

One opportunity to build something deeper than a one-night transaction.

SAVANNAH ALSO TEACHES SEASONALITY

Because the road will eventually return.

Not during Fall 2026.

During:

SPRING 2027.

APRIL 16–19.

Savannah/Tybee.

One Tybee weekend.

One coastal destination experience.

But that’s another semester.

For now:

Savannah State.

Homecoming.

Campus first.

CLASS SIX

STATESBORO

NOVEMBER 6–7, 2026

GEORGIA SOUTHERN

Final class.

Statesboro.

Eagle Nation.

Homecoming.

The subject:

CONNECTION.

College towns create unusual relationships.

For several years, thousands of people call somewhere home.

Then graduation scatters them.

Different cities.

Different careers.

Different families.

Different lives.

Homecoming reverses that movement.

For one weekend, everybody comes back.

That’s why the word matters.

Home.

Coming.

THEN THE FIRST SEMESTER ENDS

No final exam.

No GPA.

No diploma.

The measurement is different.

What did we learn?

Who did we meet?

Which businesses did we discover?

Which students did we document?

Which creators deserve bigger platforms?

Which DJs moved the room?

Which photographers captured the culture?

Which promoters delivered?

Which venues worked?

Which partnerships made sense?

Which ideas failed?

What needs to improve?

That’s the examination.

BECAUSE CRUSH UNIVERSITY™ SHOULD LEARN TOO

This can’t become a platform that enters campuses believing it already knows everything.

The opposite.

Every market should teach the brand.

Georgia State teaches Atlanta differently.

UGA teaches Athens.

The AUC teaches Black institutional density.

Albany State teaches regional community.

Savannah State teaches coastal history.

Georgia Southern teaches college-town connection.

The road becomes research.

THE STUDENTS ARE PROFESSORS TOO

Students understand things outsiders don’t.

What’s actually cool.

What’s already tired.

Which events people trust.

Which creators matter.

Which DJs are next.

What students need.

What businesses they’re starting.

What music they’re listening to before everybody else catches up.

If you’re covering youth culture and you aren’t listening to young people—

you’re doing archaeology.

ALUMNI ARE THE ARCHIVE

They remember what existed before.

The old parties.

The old buildings.

The old traditions.

The professors.

The rivalries.

The music.

The people.

Their memories provide context.

Students provide the present.

Alumni provide continuity.

You need both.

ENTREPRENEURS ARE THE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Watch who is selling.

Shirts.

Food.

Photography.

Beauty services.

Transportation.

Creative work.

Technology.

Events.

Music.

Homecoming creates live demand.

That means students can learn entrepreneurship in real time.

Customer wants something.

Can you provide it?

Can you price it?

Can you market it?

Can you deliver?

Can you make a profit?

That’s business.

THE DJ IS THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Want to know what’s moving?

Listen to the room.

What record makes everybody stop talking?

What local song gets the biggest response?

What older record suddenly feels new again?

What artist do students know before radio does?

DJs collect cultural information every night.

Pay attention.

THE YARD IS THE FASHION DEPARTMENT

No official runway required.

Homecoming turns campus into one anyway.

Vintage.

Luxury.

Custom school apparel.

Streetwear.

Greek apparel.

Independent designers.

Regional style.

Students don’t wait for fashion publications to tell them what looks good.

They decide.

Then everybody else catches up.

THE STADIUM IS THE SPORTS DEPARTMENT

Football brings people together.

But the stories extend beyond the scoreboard.

Athletes.

Coaches.

Bands.

Cheerleaders.

Dance teams.

Students.

Alumni.

Tradition.

NIL.

Business.

Media.

Sports is one of the largest engines of college culture.

Homecoming puts it at the center.

THE AFTERPARTY IS STILL A CLASSROOM

Yes.

Even there.

Who promoted it?

Who negotiated the venue?

Who sold tickets?

Who booked talent?

Who designed the graphics?

Who managed security?

Who handled operations?

Who captured content?

Who reconciled revenue?

People call it a party.

Behind the scenes it’s:

Sales.

Marketing.

Finance.

Operations.

Hospitality.

Production.

Risk management.

Media.

Business.

That’s worth studying too.

CRUSH MAGAZINE™ IS THE TEXTBOOK

Not because it has every answer.

Because it documents the questions.

Who’s next?

What’s moving?

Which campus is building something?

Which student deserves attention?

Which entrepreneur is growing?

Which athlete has a story beyond statistics?

Which DJ is breaking records?

Which designer is shaping the look?

Which alumni are creating opportunities?

Document the present while it’s still present.

THEN COMES SECOND SEMESTER

Not literally.

Culturally.

After Fall 2026 comes:

SPRING 2027.

And the classroom moves off campus.

MARCH 13–16

MIAMI.

APRIL 16–19

SAVANNAH / TYBEE.

MAY 21–25

ATLANTA.

JUNE 19–21

JACKSONVILLE.

Now the subjects become:

Travel.

Tourism.

Hospitality.

Destination entertainment.

Beach culture.

Regional expansion.

But first—

finish Fall.

THE FIRST SEMESTER

OCTOBER 2

GEORGIA STATE — ATLANTA

OCTOBER 3

UGA — ATHENS

OCTOBER 9

AUC — ATLANTA

OCTOBER 10

ALBANY STATE — ALBANY

OCTOBER 16–17

SAVANNAH STATE — SAVANNAH

NOVEMBER 6–7

GEORGIA SOUTHERN — STATESBORO

Six cultural moments.

Five cities.

Multiple university communities.

One road.

No admissions office.

No tuition.

No diploma.

Just a question:

WHAT CAN COLLEGE CULTURE TEACH US IF WE ACTUALLY PAY ATTENTION?

About business.

About music.

About sports.

About leadership.

About fashion.

About community.

About ownership.

About the South.

About where culture is going next.

That’s the first semester.
