“WE’RE ALL STARS”: COACH CUTTER’S SAVANNAH PANTHERS

George “Mikey” Turner III remembers a team through the names beside him—and the coach at its center.

When George “Mikey” Turner III remembers playing for Coach Cutter’s Savannah Panthers, he brings a roster.

Fourteen names. Different school connections. Two players named Alex Reid, each with his own place in the account.

Mikey introduces the group with a simple declaration: “We’re all stars.”

It is a former player’s expression of pride in the people who shared his team. Before Mr CRUSH, PartyPlugMikey, and Plug Not A Rapper became his public identities, George Turner belonged to this lineup.

His name deserves to appear exactly where he places it: among his teammates.

The Panthers, remembered by name

Mikey identifies the group with the following school connections:

• George Turner — Calvary/CAU

• Keron Brown — Bethesda/Hampton

• James Williams — SHS

• James Sinclair — SHS

• Dashean Maxwell — SHS

• Quan Chisolm — SHS

• Octavis Porter — JHS

• Madrid Thomas — JHS

• Bubba Davis — JHS

• Abidjaun Davis — JHS

• Josh Sparks — SavChristian

• Alex Reid — SHS/WFHS

• Alex Reid — Calvary

• Duane Chisolm — Bethesda

The school references help readers distinguish the people and follow their connections. They also show how this team brought together players whose individual stories reached into different parts of Savannah basketball.

The two Alex Reids make the value of that detail especially clear. One is identified with SHS/WFHS; the other with Calvary. Both belong in the record.

George Turner, teammate

Artist coverage usually puts Mikey’s name at the top.

Here, his name sits inside a group.

That placement changes the perspective. Readers encounter George Turner as someone who shared a team identity with Keron Brown, James Williams, James Sinclair, Dashean Maxwell, and the other players he still names.

His recollection gives the Panthers a collective presence. He has brought the people beside him into the story rather than describing his basketball years solely through his own path.

For anyone discovering him through music, this roster offers a more grounded introduction to his early world. His Savannah history includes relationships formed through a team.

Coach Cutter at the center

Mikey has previously identified the Panthers relationship within his personal history as “Coach Father Figure.” Coach Cutter’s place therefore carries meaning beyond the name attached to a team.

The roster gives that relationship a wider setting. These are the players Mikey remembers being together under Cutter.

Their individual experiences will have their own details. Mikey’s account establishes the connection that brings them into this feature: a shared team, a named coach, and a former player who wants the group recognized.

“All stars” means remembering the others

The phrase “we’re all stars” belongs to Mikey’s recollection. Its strongest quality is the word “we.”

He is speaking from inside the team.

That sense of belonging gives this chapter of the CRUSH legacy its substance. The adult performer looks backward and supplies names. Each one gives another person a visible place in the account.

For CRUSH Magazine, the Savannah Panthers story begins with that act of recognition: George Turner naming the players beside him and Coach Cutter standing at the center of their shared basketball connection.

Before the artist identities, there was a team. Mikey remembers who was on it.
